What a Way to Start the Season!
The snow is gone, the sun is out and everyone wants to get out of the house. It seems like a lot of people decided the Callao Ruritan Club Tractor Pull was a good place to head this weekend. With over 123 pulls registered for the lawn mower pull, it looks like things are looking up with attendance better than has been seen.
There were lawn mower classes for everyone, starting with three youth classes for children under the age of twelve whose entries included at least one 3 year-old and a future Nascar driver all decked out in his helmet and suit. Weight groups went from 600 to 2000 lbs. with 3-1/2 mph speed limits for some and 10 mph for others, along with a chance for Danny Powers and Bonnie Waters to run their Suzuki Rails as exhibition entries much to the delight of the crowd.
